The Healing Power of Water

Today is National Hydration Day, so I figured it was the perfect time to talk about the healing power of water. One of my favorite topics!

I am fascinated with water. Anyone who knows me will tell you about my ‘Sacred Water’, which is water that I bless, infuse with crystals and store in a special vessel that has the flower of life etched in gold onto the bottom of the carafe. (I will dive deeper into sacred geometry at another time.)

I have been borderline obsessed with the studies conducted by Masaru Emoto since my twenties. Water has been seen as a symbol of the soul and regarded as the prima materia, the prime substance, of the universe and life itself.

When water freezes, its molecules systemically connect and form the nucleons of a crystal; it becomes stable when it has the structure of a hexagon. Then it starts to grow and form a crystalline structure (think of a snowflake). However, on the flip side, if unnatural information is forced upon it, it’s not able to form a hexagonal structure.

Which raises the question, why does water look different (microscopically) under different circumstances?

One of the reasons I became fascinated with Masaru Emoto’s water experiments was due to his breathtaking photography of different water samples and, witnessing the visible changes that would happen to the water in different environments. For example, a water sample taken from a natural spring formed beautiful hexagons, while water taken from a polluted river hardly formed a crystalline structure. You could clearly see a difference.

Masaru Emoto believed that water has memory. Each molecule of it carries information, and when we drink it, that information becomes part of our body. This instantly resonated with me because I believe that everything is energy, and the corresponding vibration around us resonates at a particular frequency, which can influence our thoughts, emotions, mood and surroundings.

Water is a very honest mirror. It shows us the effects that different environmental factors can have on us both negatively and positively.

Think of water as a liquid recorder that is able to receive, store, and transmit electromagnetic vibrations. Water molecules have a positive and negative pole, they behave like magnets. They attach themselves to other molecules and form clusters. These clusters are sensitive structures that are influenced by vibrational frequency.

For example, conflict and disharmony produces harmful or negative energy. While gratitude and love produces healing, positive energy. If we learn to tune into a higher vibration, we can become that energy. Therefore changing our physical reality. This realization gives us power and responsibility, and makes us think about what kind of energy we want to put out into the world. By doing this, we’re not only helping ourselves, but also the people around us.

One of the most important messages from water is that each of our thoughts, words, and actions represents the energy that we send out. Our level of consciousness has a real influence on our environment; and therefore has the power to change the world around us.

Water is the most significant material for human life and health. This relationship to water and our health is due to water being the largest component of the human body. The human body is around 85% water. We are more of a water-being than a human-being if you think about it.

Water is the main means of transport of all the materials that are required by the cells in our body, and also for all the cells’ waste substances. If we don’t have enough water in our bodies this transport network doesn’t function properly. One of the best possible ways for the body to get water is from fruits and vegetables. Water consumed in this manner reaches the blood more steadily, and the vitamins and minerals are absorbed more effectively. The water content of most fruit and vegetables is over 90% to put it into perspective.

The older we get, the more water we need to consume for optimal health. Many of us could drink more water.

Here are a few water tips:

  • Drink a minimum of 8–10 glasses of water a day
  • Start your day with 2 glasses each morning
  • Energize your water by blessing it. I also like to infuse the energy of certain crystals into my water, such as shungite and rose quartz
  • Sip slowly and mindfully. Talk kindly to yourself (and your inner waters) with love and positive intention

If you want to explore this topic in more depth I highly recommend Masaru Emoto’s books The Message From Water and The Healing Power of Water.
